You know you grew up in the eighties if....

I have read a few of these lists and decided to take a few of my favourites, make up some of my own and compile my own list. Watch for my next list, I am going to make one up called "You know you grew up in Burlington in the eighties if.... "

• You remember watching shows like "Punky Brewster", "Webster" and "You Can't Do That on Television"
• You know the profound meaning of "Wax on, Wax off."
• Your favourite movie of all time is "The Breakfast Club" and you knew someone like each of the characters in the movie
• You hold a special place in your heart for "Back to the Future" and Micheal J. Fox.
• You ever wore Jelly Shoes or Jelly Bracelets
• You wore a banana clip in your hair
• You know who Xavier Roberts is, and had a doll with his name on it's butt.
• You can name at least half, if not all of the members of "The Brat Pack"
• You have seen at least half of the episodes of "Fraggle Rock", and can sing at least part of the theme song...."Down in Fraggle Rock......."
• You thought Molly Ringwald was really cool
• You ever uttered the words "Sike!"
• You ever wore neon clothing
• You know who He-Man and She-Ra are, and hoped some day they would be boyfriend and girlfriend.
• You remember when ATARI was a state of the art video game console
• Poltergeist freaked you out
• You layered your multi coloured slouch socks, and wore them over the cuff of your shiny spandex pants.
• You ever made a cool noise when running in mock slow motion, pretending to be the Six-Million Dollar Man.
• You remember when Luke and Laura got married the first time
• You ever crimped your hair
• You remember staying up late to watch Friday Night videos, before Much Music
• You can remember listening to Prince and wondering what it really would be like partying in 1999.
• You remember watching news footage of the Challenger Explosion at school
• You can remember what it was like riding in the back of the family station wagon, facing the cars behind you.
• School House Rock played a huge part in your education
• You know what it means to give a "Care Bear Stare"
• You know who Mr. Belvedere is
• You remember the sayings, "I've fallen and I can't get up", and "Where's The Beef?"
• You knew the first generation of the Degrassi Kids, even remember when they lived on "Degrassi Street" and went to "Degrassi Junior High".
• You remember Heathcliff the Cat
• You ever held a boom box on your shoulder
• You solved the Rubik's Cube by peeling off the stickers, or pulling it apart and putting it back together.
• You remember when it was worth getting up to watch Saturday morning cartoons
• You remember reading Tales of the Fourth Grade Nothing and Superfudge
• You ran in the first "Terry Fox Run" and can remember when he passed away
• You owned a Swatch Watch
• You had a crush on one of the Corey's
• You remember when Saturday Night Live was Really Funny
• Your school had one computer, and it was a PET.
• Car Phones were only for the rich, and they had cords.
• Roller skates had four wheels, to at the front, two at the back, and they were about 2 inches thick.
• You remember when Micheal Jackson had a nose, was black, and cool.
• You ever uttered the words, "Gag me with a spoon"
• You felt real fear when someone lit a cigarette near you. Not for the dangers of second hand smoke, but because of the full can of hairspray in your hair.
